“I expect Havendock to come out of Early Access in 2024 – but time will tell when we’ve all run out of ideas.”
How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?
“More fine-tuned, more polished, with a lot more content!
I plan to focus on immersive and polished sim gameplay, quality-of-life improvements, and adding more variety to islands, settlers, and things to do all the time.
Beyond that, I want to create more fun content inspired by Early Access. I plan to provide new ways to design your settlement, expand into the sea, and even take to the skies. There is also a basic story that can be further fleshed out.”
What is the current state of the Early Access version?
“The game is fully playable in single-player, with highly experimental online co-op for up to 16 players. You can build your town on the ocean, recruit new settlers, keep them happy and healthy, research new technology, farm, fish, cook, disco, build infrastructure, and explore islands and the ocean floor for new resources to scale up your base and increase production.
There is more polish, balancing, and content for me to create and fully round out the experience.”
Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?
“Yes, the price will go up as new content is added and as the game gets closer to the full release.”
How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?
“Join me on Discord, QQ, and the Steam forums!
I spend a lot of time with the community, share what I’m working on, listen to feedback, and actively make improvements and plan out new content.

Life on the open ocean isn’t supposed to be easy. However, if you create the right plan, get the right people, and work together, then everything should be good, right? Well, that’s the goal when you take on the latest colony sim game, Havendock. This Early Access title is rich in content and has an experimental multiplayer mode. Moreover, the developers love to add content and that’s something that impresses me.
Developed by YYZ and published by Different Tales and Indieark, this is a relaxed simulation title. What’s more, there is automation, colony management, and an abundance of merchants, fish, and resources. On top of this, the research elements are massive, the base building is fascinating, and this addictive title will only get better.
